I’m proud to announce my campaign for re-election. It has been an honor serving the Tucker community and together we’ve made tremendous progress.

Over the next four years, I’m looking forward to building upon the solid foundation we have laid. Some of my objectives are: prioritizing infrastructure, better connecting our community and enhancing our parks.

I know there is much more work to be done, and I’m excited about tackling new challenges. Being your voice on the city council is my top priority.

About Your Councilwoman Anne

Anne was elected to Tucker’s first City Council in March 2016 where she represents District Three’s more than 11,000 citizens. She served as the District One DeKalb County Planning Commissioner for three years and is a previous member of her district’s Community Council.

A 2014 Leadership DeKalb graduate, Anne has served as a Community Service Project (CSP) liaison since 2015. She was recently selected to serve on Leadership DeKalb’s Board of Directors.

Anne develops communication strategy and provides issues management, media relations support and marketing education for clients as a key member of Jackson Spalding, an Atlanta-based nationally recognized marketing/public relations agency.

Anne is a graduate of the University of Georgia and she earned a Master of Education from Mercer University. Anne spent a decade working at Stone Mountain Middle School where she was named “Teacher of the Year.”

As a public servant, former educator and businesswoman, Anne is always eager to find solutions and maximize opportunities for positive results.

Anne’s Priorities

Parks Advocate

Anne made the motion to adopt our first Parks Master Plan and fund a feasibility study for the future of Tucker Recreation Center. She was instrumental in obtaining additional park land for the city including: additions to Tucker Nature Preserve and Henderson Park; pocket park in the Westwood neighborhood; Fitzgerald Field, providing 20 acres of much needed sports fields.

Anne is an advocate and funder of the good work completed by Friends of Tucker Parks throughout the city.

Fiscal Responsibility

Anne advocated to provide additional funding for paving our deteriorated roads for a total of $4.6M last fall and an additional $2.3M this spring.

Engaged Community Servant

Anne made the motion to adopt our first PATH master plan and supported funding to begin our first project. She was supportive of projects to close sidewalk gaps across the city and provide more sidewalks to better connect our schools and parks.

Additionally, Anne addressed city wide nuisance issues by being a driving force to develop and strengthen ordinances to protect Tucker from nuisance businesses, properties and signs. She instituted a ban on linear lighting, restrictions on feather flags, parking lot drop boxes and massage establishments. She worked with city staff, police and neighbors to rid Oak Avenue of a home known for criminal activity.
